It's not every day you have a legit reason to dress up (or down, depends) and be diva style glamorous. Take that and piece it with a pole dancing competition--yes, that's right. On stage, scantily clad in front of a massive audience of unknowns and a shiny pole.
Especially in Malaysia, where we're still developing and pole is still somewhat parked in the taboo region of almighty taboos right next to all connotations of sexual deviancy.
Pole dancing is hard. I will be the first to say that I do not have the muscles in my arms nor do I have them in my abs to be able to do it correctly :p
And no, I didn't win the competition. Seriously, with only three classes under my belt I count myself lucky I didn't trip, fall and bonk into my partner. It takes a lot of nerve to get up there, strut your stuff and pretend you'll never have to see anyone in the audience (save for your friends) ever again... hopefully.
